Grey Ogre Games opened one fine Singaporean summer in September 2015. We started off as Magic: the Gathering (MTG) card show vendors, travelling to a new city almost every month. We’d peddle our curated wares, compete in pro tours and collected (or hoarded) all sorts of treasure. As seasoned cardboard collectors, our humble inventory grew beyond what could fit in our suitcases.
At the same time, we opened our physical store in the heart of Singapore, Chinatown. Our home base, Grey Ogre Games at 83 Club Street. Climb up the “stairway to heaven” (endearingly termed by some of you) and you’ll reach Singapore’s largest MTG inventory.
After years of being in this industry, we noticed that there aren’t many spaces that cater to newer players or their loved ones who are clueless about TCGs but want to gift the TCG-lovers in their lives something meaningful. What if there was a safe space for people from all walks of life, to learn more about the magic of MTG, gather as friends and browse products in a meaningful manner and enjoy themselves?
This idea paved the way to open Grey Ogre Games at 27 Ann Siang Road. A cosy, third space that creates a welcoming experience for beginners, seasoned players and everyone in between.
As we grow, our goal is to continue championing what makes Magic: the Gathering (and other TCGs) special and nurture the wonderful community that has chosen us to be their go-to local game store.
